I figure there would be enough debate over categories to merit its own board, especially in the beginning.

In the genre categories, I feel like ACTION and ADVENTURE should be paired together, as should HORROR and SUSPENSE. Supernatural seems like a weak category.

I messed with the new page Standard Layout to create a Ficbox Layout. It disables visual editing (because it's annoying to have to switch to source every damn time) and includes some notes and a nudge towards the Adding Fics page. I'm worried the notes may be too long, though; I'm using Firefox and my screen resolution is 1920x1080, and the notes perfectly fit my editing space, with no room to spare. Looks roomier in Chrome and IE, but I'm not sure how it'll look in other resolutions. Want to test it out and see what you think? Just add a page by selecting the ficbox layout and that's it. If it works and we're happy with it, I'll update the Adding Fics page and then go through all the existing fic pages and add the notes.

I'm just gonna dump all notes I think should be either included in the blank ficbox template or on the "adding a fic" page right here. We can figure out what to put where once more stuff falls into place.

How do we add a fic to a list? I read through the "Adding fics" page which is very well written and helpful but it must have missed that out. (Either that or i just missed reading it!)

(in very loose order!)

1. Decide on UK or American spelling

2. Decide on page naming conventions

3. Decide on pairing style conventions

4. Finalize infoboxes

5. Figure out how lists are going to work

6. Make sure that newbies can jump right in (make a style guide, make page templates, etc)

7. Finalize all categories

8. Finalize site theme and top menu

9. Announce Grand Opening on /r/HPFanfiction and /r/harrypotter

10. PROFIT!
